Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio works in partnership with 120 member agencies from the very small to the very large to help those at-risk for hunger in our community.
Some operate soup kitchens or food pantries. Others include shelters, and nonprofit organizations that serve meals or distribute food packages as a supplemental programs.
Although Second Harvest distributes nearly half of the food to our member agencies at no charge, the agencies contribute a shared maintenance fee for the balance of their food orders. All of our member agencies count on Second Harvest to be a reliable source of dry food like pasta and cereal, canned food, fresh or frozen meats and produce, even sundries like paper towels and cleaning supplies. Agencies must meet the high standards for safe food handling, storage and distribution set forth by Second Harvest.
