United Way Week of Caring

United Way Day of CaringUnited Way’s Day of Caring has transformed into a Week of Caring in 2011 with many opportunites for companies and individuals to come together and make a real, positive difference in their communities.  Nearly 800 employees of businesses and companies take part in the annual event at two dozen non-profit agencies throughout the area.

Many of these businesses are donors to the non-profit agencies involved in the Day of Caring, and this is a chance for them to see the benefits their donations provide to those in need and witness the work that still needs to be done in the region.

At the same time, the Day of Caring hopefully introduces new people to volunteering and to portions of the community that they may have been unaware of.  They’ll be able to make a positive impact in the lives of others by reading to children, serving meals in a hunger center, and landscaping, painting, and repairing facilities.
