 In 2007 Holiday Cheer celebrates 24 years of helping families during the holidays in North Central Ohio. This year the program will help 34 Lorain County food pantries feed 9,400 families in need during December.
Over the years, Holiday Cheer has raised nearly $650,000 to help needy families in Lorain County. Holiday Cheer is sponsored by Burger King, “Gold Country” WOBL 1320AM, “Kool Kat” Oldies WDLW 1380AM and the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.
We hope to meet this years goal to raise $40,000 and help thousands of Lorain County residents. All proceeds from Holiday Cheer are used to help those less fortunate by providing food for the holidays. WOBL and WDLW promote Holiday Cheer with live remote broadcasts from different Burger King restaurants each day through Christmas Eve. The broadcasts feature individuals from the charitable organizations, which distribute the Holiday Cheer food baskets.
Funds raised in Erie and Huron County support the Salvation Army in those communities.
