Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio conducted the most comprehensive study of the local charitable response to hunger ever taken in our region.
Since 2006, the network of member agencies served by Second Harvest has reported nearly a 40% increase in those seeking assistance at local food pantries.
In 2004 the federal governments count of hungry Americans showed an increase for the 5th consecutive year. According to statistics released by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA):
