Miles for Hunger - October 13, 2007

Cascade Park - Elyria

The 2007 Miles for Hunger will take place Saturday, October 13 at Cascade Park in Elyria.  Walk, run, rollerblade or bike the beautiful trail. The annual event sponsored by the Elyria Rotary and Elyria Sunrise Rotary to support Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio and Rotary International hunger-relief.

In 2002, the Rotary District 600 Governor at the time challenged Elyria Rotary Club to get more actively involved with the plight of the hungry locally and internationally.  The Club stepped up with its "The Fight Against Hunger" campaign in 2003.  The campaign was organized around a sponsored "walk, run, rollerblade, bike" event called Miles for Hunger.

In 2006 Miles for Hunger raised over $11,000 to help Second Harvest and international hunger-relief.
