In 2007 Holiday Cheer celebrates 24 years of helping families during the holidays in North Central Ohio. This year the program will help 34 Lorain County food pantries feed 9,400 families in need during December.

Over the years, Holiday Cheer has raised nearly $650,000 to help needy families in Lorain County.  Holiday Cheer is sponsored by Burger King, “Gold Country” WOBL 1320AM, “Kool Kat” Oldies WDLW 1380AM and the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.

The 2nd annual Generous Helpings: A Culinary Benefit was held Sunday June 24, 2007 from 6PM until 9PM at Schoepfle Garden in Birmingham.  The event celebrated Second Harvest's 25th anniversary and featured chefs competing using Second Harvest's "Super Six".  Paired with the chefs creations was a selection of complimenting ales from Great Lakes Brewing Co., music and a silent auction.  Tram rides were offered through the garden courtesy of the Metroparks.

The St. John West Shore Festival of the Arts will celebrate it's 15th anniversary in 2007.  The festival is a fine arts and crafts celebration and is one of the premier events of its kind in Northeast Ohio.

The 2007 festival is slated for July 13, 14 & 15 at St. John Westshore Hospital in Westlake.

United Way’s 2007 Day of Caring will be held on multiple day in September and is an opportunity for companies and individuals to come together and make a real, positive difference in their communities.  Nearly 800 employees of businesses and companies take part in the annual event at two dozen non-profit agencies throughout the area.

Cascade Park - Elyria

The 2007 Miles for Hunger will take place Saturday, October 13 at Cascade Park in Elyria.  Walk, run, rollerblade or bike the beautiful trail. The annual event sponsored by the Elyria Rotary and Elyria Sunrise Rotary to support Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio and Rotary International hunger-relief.
