Working to Give a Season of Hope

The Holiday rush is on at Second Harvest. But we’re not talking about the best toys, store hours or shopping deals. We are looking to move out thousands of pounds of food to the 81 pantries and 44 hot meal programs that rely on us to fill their shelves. Fifty percent of those who struggle the most during the holiday season are children and seniors. We have to do all we can.

Holiday Cheer Campaign and Kick-Off Breakfast

The holiday season means many things: excitement, joy, fun, family, and friends. But our neighbors in need often can’t enjoy the magic of the holiday season when they are struggling with hunger. For the 32nd year, Burger King, Gold Country” WOBL 1320AM, and “Kool Kat” Oldies WDLW 1380AM are working together for the Holiday Cheer campaign to benefit Second Harvest.

Partner Charity Spotlight: Nehemiah Partners Kids Cafe

The sight of children lining up for seconds of good-for-you veggies may sound like a figment of an adult’s imagination, but that is exactly what the scene has been at Nehemiah Partners Kid’s Cafe in Sandusky. Kids lined up for second helpings of chicken breast, noodle, salad, and spaghetti squash. “Our kids are hungry!” smiled Roxanne Goss, director of the Nehemiah Partners.
