Healthy Harvest Corps AmeriCorps Members

Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio is recruiting two AmeriCorps members through the Healthy Harvest Corps program, a statewide initiative administered by the Ohio Association of Foodbanks to advance Food Is Medicine across Ohio. These roles put you at the intersection of food access and health—addressing hunger as a social determinant of health and connecting people across Crawford, Erie, Huron, and Lorain counties to the nutritious food they need.

We believe hunger is not a choice. Working with our network of 130+ partner charities and 10+ school districts—food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, mobile pantries, senior delivery, and after-school programs—we meet people where they are.

Two ways to serve:

Healthcare Partnerships & Referral Coordination — Connect community members to food and social service resources through the Unite Us referral network, while building relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations.

Medically Supportive Food Programs — Coordinate food selection, nutrition standards, mini mobile pantries, and neighbor engagement/feedback for our senior box, school pantry, and other food assistance programs.

Both roles offer hands-on experience in public health, nutrition, community outreach, and program operations, while you build skills in communication, data tracking, relationship-building, and collaborative problem-solving—and connect you to a statewide network of food bank champions advancing Food Is Medicine across Ohio.
