Run a Harvest for Hunger Campaign
A life well lived can be compared to a fine wine. John Hopkins knows all about both. He worked in marketing and management for Wine Trends for 27 years. When he retired in 2017, he and his wife, Jill, moved to Avon Lake from Hudson to be near their grandchildren and John started volunteering at Second Harvest. This past March, he took volunteering to a new level working on an extra project for us at Second Harvest. John lends a hand in the warehouse, working alongside staff members who pick and set-up orders for distribution.
Julie Chase-Morefield, Presdient & CEO of Second Harvest received the Nonprofit Executive Director of the Year award at the 2019 Medical Mutual Pillar Awards for Community Service banquet at LaCentre Conference & Banquet Facility and in a special editorial report in the December edition of Smart Business Cleveland and Akron.
Be sure to check out the Second Harvest display at the Carlisle Visitor Center as part of the Lorain County MetroParks Holiday Lights display. The yearly tradition sets a glow the winter landscape now through Dec. 30 in LaGrange. A half-mile paved loop trail around the visitor center at 12882 Diagonal Road in LaGrange offers decorated trail stations with themes from classic holiday songs or movies to whatever local businesses and groups create.
