Share Second Harvest resources with our neighbors at local events

Volunteers will engage the public at community events in a non-formal atmosphere. Educate students and community members about the resources Second Harvest has to offer, how to donate time or funds and help create pathways to nutritious food.

Volunteer Assignments for Volunteer Outreach Team

  • Review talking points and Q & A information before each event
  • Pick up table supplies at Second Harvest
  • Drive to community outreach event in our service area
  • Check-in and set-up before the start of the event
  • Engage attendees and provide information about Second Harvest
  • Provide a friendly and welcoming experience for community members
  • Tear down table and return supplies to Second Harvest

Second Harvest Volunteer Outreach Team at Community Event

Qualifications for Volunteering:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Background Screening Required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable speaking to the public
  • Working knowledge of Second Harvest
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
  • Stand or sit for up to 3 hours
  • Appropriate attire required
  • Willingness to use personal vehicle to drive to outreach event site
  • Professional and respectful to community members, other volunteers and SHFB staff
